This week, I want to share some of the projects I am currently working on. I am always thinking about, designing and implementing a few projects at any one time. Since I am a creative person, that is how I like to work – I love the challenge, the variety, and the endless flow of inspiration that comes with working on more than one project at the same time. However, there is a limit. In order to give my clients’ new homes and offices the time, care, and commitment they deserve, I accept only four, occasionally five, projects within the same timeframe. Some Sydney interior designers thrive on the pressure of working on many projects; I prefer to give my spaces that extra bit of time and attention.
Here is a breakdown of some of the spaces I am immersed in at the moment:
- Designing a kitchen, a one-bedroom en-suite and a powder room. These rooms are contained within an Italian-inspired home, which is marked by its grandeur. I always feel a sense of awe and wonder when I am surrounded by such elegance. I love the process.
- Recreating a three-bedroom apartment in Double Bay, a leafy and affluent suburb in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs. This project has a few different elements, including a fresh layout and new furniture. It also involves seamlessly incorporating the client’s eclectic into the reinvigorated space.
- Renovating and refurnishing an indoor/outdoor patio at a house in Bellevue Hill, which is also located in the Eastern Suburbs. I apply my design philosophy to all spaces – no matter how big or small – and this patio is no exception. I am in the process of layering and using decorative objects to create a timeless, functional space. I have also proposed new furniture for the dining area as well as the comfortable seating area.
- Furnishing some rooms in a house at Vaucluse. Sourcing furniture that matches a home’s aesthetic is one of my great pleasures. I am really enjoying the simplicity of choosing new pieces for this beautiful home.
- Finally, I have just finished designing the interior of a three-bedroom apartment in the Toaster Building, a coveted block in Sydney’s CBD. With lots of sharp angles and glass, this space was a challenge to work with, but I am very pleased with the end result: it’s inviting yet chic, and the harbour views are absolutely stunning. I was honoured to be the interior design firm chosen to tackle this space. If you like, you can see photos of the apartment here.
