Some of us are destined to pursue our dreams from a young age. For many, those early ambitions evolve with time or necessity, but not for Marylou. From the age of 8, her love for creating beautiful spaces paired with her natural talent meant she was destined to make her dream of becoming an interior designer a reality.

It all began when 8-year-old Marylou visited a family friend’s home in Johannesburg. The house, brimming with layers of art, colour, & striking floor-to-ceiling joinery, captivated her. What stood out the most? The perfectly matched wallpaper and curtains—a trend of the time—that sparked a lifelong passion. She knew, in that moment, she wanted to transform homes and make them beautiful. With her mother’s permission, she decorated her own bedroom, painting one wall a bold green and adding matching curtains.

Marylou grew up in a sprawling, eclectic Johannesburg home that her parents had built, surrounded by carefully maintained gardens. Many bedroom re-decorations later, and with an interior design degree under her belt, Marylou and her husband Robin moved to Sydney when she was just 23.
Now, as a mother to three beautiful daughters, Marylou was determined to show them that women can do it all! She built her name & business, and today works from a stunning studio in Woollahra with a small team, including her daughter Stephanie.

Her home, as you’d expect, is an immaculately styled haven for her family—her husband, daughters, sons-in-laws, and six gorgeous grandchildren. Marylou lives by her mission statement: “By changing the way people feel about their environment, we can ultimately change the way they feel about themselves.”
And just as she has done all her life in her own environment, she now creates this magic for her clients.
