It’s hard to believe that 2024 is drawing to a close! As we juggle all the final tasks of the year, we’re also looking forward to a much-deserved break with our loved ones. At Marylou Sobel Interior Design, it’s been a very busy and rewarding year…and as we wrap up, we’re buzzing with excitement for the projects lined up for 2025. But before we dive into the new year, we’d love to reflect on some incredible milestones we’ve achieved in 2024…
Bundarra Penthouse Completion- This was a dream project that we couldn’t have realised without our wonderful clients, talented builders, and the entire trades team. We’re so proud of the outcome!
Top 50 Rooms Finalist – House & Garden 2024 – We were thrilled to be finalists in four categories for the Bundarra Penthouse: Master Bedroom, Laundry, Master Ensuite, and Snug. A huge achievement!
Shortlisted for the DIA Designers Australia Awards – Although we didn’t take home the award, being shortlisted for ‘Place’ with the Bundarra Penthouse was a huge honour. We’re immensely proud!
A Special Project with New Owners – Working on a past project for its new owners has been a nostalgic experience. We can’t wait to reveal the refreshed design soon.
Two Spectacular Heritage Homes – Currently, we’re working on two beautiful heritage homes. These large-scale projects are bringing out our deepest passions, and we’re excited to share more in 2025!
New Multi-Residential Development – This is a new area for us, and we’re loving the experience and learning every step of the way.
Six Years in Woollahra – We’ve just celebrated our sixth year in our Woollahra studio, a space that continues to inspire and bring the team together. We absolutely love it here!
Welcoming Baby, August Henry – Our associate designer, Stephanie, welcomed her third baby boy, August Henry, in February. We can’t wait to have her back with us in 2025!
Welcome, Victoria! – We’re thrilled to welcome Victoria, our new team member. We’re excited for the fresh perspective she’ll bring to our 2025 projects. And in welcoming Victoria, we farewell Blanka. After 3½ years with us, Blanka has returned to Indonesia. We’ll miss her dearly and wish her all the best for the future!
As we wrap up the year, we’re proud to share our sustainable Woollahra Window Display competition entry. We created a stunning throw using off-cuts from past projects – a beautiful nod to sustainable design!
